Blue Zone- / ˈblu: zoʊn / noun: A place where people are claimed to have exceptional longevity beyond the age of 100 due to a lifestyle combining physical activity, low stress, rich social interactions, a predominantly plant-based diet, and low disease incidence.
That's the text book definition. But it isn't hard to really feel and understand this phenomenon when you just dive right in. Sure, scientists can pinpoint a few specific factors that likely explain such longevity, but there isn't a way to quantify the inherent awe you experience when seeing the stunning juxtaposition of stark cliffsides meeting turquoise-blue water; the way your heart fills hearing palpable joy exchanged in a simple conversation in the piazza; the blissful ignorance toward the hours that pass as plates and moments are shared around a warm table as the sun sets over the coast.
It just makes sense when you're there and experiencing it. Something in your soul convinces your body that life will and should just last longer. Squeeze a bit more out of every moment, every day, and let's welcome the next with the pure exhileration that we get to do it all again.
why we love
Sardinia
Terroir, plane and simple. There is a richness to the flavors, the culture, the terrain, le dolce vita. We've made it our (admittedly painless) mission to explore this dynamic country, to experience it not as tourists but as travelers, to immerse ourselves within and absorb every moment. Exploration here is boundless, discovery endless, and the desire to return insatiable.
